Janet Potgieter
Janet Potgieter, the Founder of JannyDjan Acadmy, is a Visionary, Public Speaker, MC, Mentor, Multi-Media Presenter, International Beauty Queen, Multi Award Winner, Model & Pageant Coach and a Humanitarian.
She founded JannyDjan Models, a training & management studio, in May 2019 in Potchefstroom and in conjunction with Conejito Productions, JannyDjan Acting in May 2022
She was crowned Mrs Africa in 2014 and during her reign as Mrs Africa she represented the Continent twice internationally in 2015.
First at Mrs Globe Classic in Las Vegas where she placed 1st runner up and received the Heart for Women and Contestants Choice Awards.
Later in the same year she represented Africa again at Mrs Universe in Belarus where she was crowned Mrs Universe Integrity and she was nominated as a Phenomenal African Women by the Phenomenal African Women Foundation.
In 2018 she had won the CEO Global Pan African Country Award (DRC) and Regional Award (Central Africa) for Most Influential Women in Business and Government, that took her through to the Africa Final Awards where she had won the overall African Award in the category Welfare & Civil Society. In Dec 2020 she received the Life Time Achievers Award.
She received the Act of Love Award from Banna Ba Kae Tlokwe Men’s Forum in 2019 for 8 years of unconditional community service in the JB Marks Municipal Area and the DRC since 2014.
She engaged in humanitarian work in the DRC from 2014 – 2020 as the Vice President of Latlong NGO in the North Kivu Province, and through their Nzuri Project

they raised funds internationally
to perform surgery on women living with Endemic Goitre Condition in the Eastern DRC.
They have also supported an orphanage in Sake, North Kivu with basic medication, vegetable seeds, sanitary wear and educational material, amongst others.
She is still actively involved today in various capacity building projects in South Africa and her hometown of Potchefstroom in the North West Province.
Janet started modelling in high school in the 80’s and had a Modelling & Finishing School and Production Company during the 90’s.

She stepped out of the industry in the early 2000’s to focus on her family and she also gained experience in the corporate world.
She is a founding member of the Potch-Tlokwe Business Chamber and her involvement in her local community of Potchefstroom in the North West Province, South Africa started in conjunction with Aganang FM community radio station, Banna Ba Kae Tlokwe Men’s Forum and the Business Chamber in 2010.
Pushed by her friend Anton Volschenk to obtain a bigger platform for her charity work, she entered Mrs South Africa in 2013 and placed in the Top 10.
The following year she was crowned Mrs Africa and the rest as they say, is history.

Her journey had been published in various newspapers and magazines, shared during radio interviews and she also grazed the cover of Devoted Christian Lifestyle magazine. A short documentary about her humanitarian work in the Eastern DRC under the title
“My Journey, Their Story” was produced in 2019.
She obtained a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and Child Psychology in 1998 and a Distinction in Basic Project Management in 2009, both through UNISA.
She is happily married with 2 children and she calls Potchefstroom in the North West Province her home.
She believes that there are no stronger women on the planet than the African women and in Bulengo Displacement Camp between 42 000 people in Eastern DRC she vowed in 2014 to do anything in her power to empower African women, men and children through providing them with life-skills to create a better future for themselves. That is exactly what she is doing on a daily basis.
Her motto is: “Give what you can, for you it might be nothing special, but for someone else it can change their world.”
