Marinet Potgieter, born in Klerksdorp and raised in
Potchefstroom, South Africa,
is a multi-talented individual who has established herself as both
a successful model and a promising actress.
Her journey in the world of performing arts began when she took drama classes in 2014 and 2015, and continued throughout her high school years, where drama became one of her subjects.
Recognizing her potential, Marinet joined the prestigious JannyDjan Academy and became an Elite Model.
There, she honed her modelling skills and expanded her knowledge of the industry.
Additionally, Marinet enrolled in the Acting at JannyDjan Academy, further developing her acting abilities.
While pursuing her education, she is also busy completing her GED online, demonstrating her commitment to personal growth and academic achievement.
Marinet’s passion for pageantry and modelling grew through her close observation and interaction with her mother, Janet Potgieter, during her pageant journey from 2013 to 2018.
Inspired by her mother’s experiences, Marinet actively participated in various pageants, both on and off the stage.
She worked backstage, assisting in the smooth execution of pageants, and lent her support to contestants and models during castings and photo shoots.
As a professional model, Marinet has excelled in various areas, including photography, beauty, and runway.
She has collaborated with renowned experts in the field, such as Jose de Canha Couture, Maria de Vos, and Bantu Gold, enhancing her skills and adding valuable experience to her portfolio.
Marinet’s dedication to her craft extends beyond modeling, as she also embraces roles in pageantry, taking on responsibilities such as coaching, choreography, and back-stage management.
Marinet’s achievements in the industry include winning the prestigious title of Miss Aganang FM Pre-Teen in 2018.
The following year she achieved top 5 in Miss Pre-Teen South Africa.
She has also made a significant impact in the Fashion Without Borders South Africa Fashion Show from 2021 to 2023 and Fashion Without Borders Botswana in 2022.
Additionally, she was crowned Face of Potchefstroom Miss Teen Fitness in 2022.
Marinet’s exceptional abilities were recognized when she was named the JannyDjan Models Grand Champion in 2020.
She has also been honoured with awards at SACOPA, including Evening Wear winner (Gold), Fashion winner (Gold), and second place in Swimwear (Silver).
Her talent has been sought after by esteemed platforms such as the Nort West School of Design where she partook in the Editorial Photo shoot in 2023 and the Platinum Fashion Festival in the same year.
Furthermore, she has achieved the title of Opulent Models SA Beautiful Fresh Face winner in 2023 and became a finalist in the Super Model SA 2023 competition.
Beyond her professional endeavours, Marinet cherishes her love for nature, her family, and the joy of playing dress-up.
She actively seeks opportunities to assist others and is always ready for adventures such as road-trips and picnics, as long as there is good music, good food, and great company.
