Monique Grandio

Monique is an award-winning director born and raised in

 Potchefstroom, South Africa.

 From a young age she showed interest and talent in the arts, 

being part of pageant shows, dancing, modelling and crafts.

It was only after she found acting that she found her “home”, set on pursuing her dreams
she moved to New York to be a part of the Acting for Film AFA program in the worldknown
New York Film Academy.

After a year of gruelling studying and acting, Monique decided to further strengthen her academic pursuit and continued to complete her Bachelor’s in the fine arts in Los Angeles.

Living, studying and working with top professionals in LA taught Monique a lot. She acquired a lot of skills, enough to Produce alongside her know husband Alonso, she Directed, Wrote and Starred in her own Short Film “Shameless”.

Said short-film picked up
interest from industry titans as it won awards in the Los Angeles FilmFest, it became one the few shorts produced by an actress to make it to Cannes Film Festival and it made an appearance in Brussels, Phoenix, Miami, Greece, etc.

After experiencing the massive success that “Shameless” brought Monique she started
focusing on directing more-so than acting.

Being able to direct and teach actors what she
knows made her a powerhouse in her field.

She was also nominated as best revelation actress at The Claqueta Awards in this short film Shotgun.

The film festival is in Barcelona known as  the 2nd biggest film festival there.

With 20+ projects under her name and being classically trained on every acting technique
coming from Constantin Stanislavsky, Monique offers a unique form of teaching and
knowledge to the craft.

Missing South Africa and her family she decided to
come back, to keep working and teaching in her own home-town,
Potchefstroom.
